Day Four
The weather was less than kind and scoring on Day 4 was not good, with a big number of players returning scores 5 – 10 shots worse than previous rounds. Many were convinced that they had lost their way, they were out of it, no chance only to find that they were not alone and the scoring details for each division and category accessible from the .pdf links below will help tell the story.


Day Three

Only the lead sled dog has a good view.

The third day is supposed to be moving day and mostly the leaders have just moved away.

Anthony Ilton -Maher shot the low round of the day 70 and on 206 now leads Owen Lloyd by 9 shots heading into the last day with Malcom Gullery 1 shot behind on 216. Cruise Wawatai moves into 4th with Nick McClure on 221. Aaron Wright drops to 6th on 223 and Trey Shedlock is 7th on 226. George Wang is 8th on 233. Jason McKenzie and Zane Wilkins complete the top 10 on 234.

In the Womens top division Erik Cui with another 72 now has an 8 shot lead over Mary Speir on 227 who has 2 shots on Alanah Braybrook on 229. Phillipa Smith is 4th and Tesia Mania Vaka is 5th.

In the Intermediate men Pete Gallen 242 leads by 2 shots from Kirk Stewart on 244. Wayne Turner drops to 3rd on 249 ahead of Chris Brooks is 4th on 251. Tony Maher is 6th on 259 1 shot ahead of Alex Johnson and Kasey Ward on 260. Malcolm Wellington has sneaked into 8th and Vito Sione is in 9th.

In the Men’s Junior division Nigel Messenger on 264 has this in the bank. Stephen Quinn still holds 2nd but is now 9 shots behind on 273. Jason Robinson has caught up to Sias Meyer in 3rd on 276 and Alex Walters is in 5th. Ray Kahui is 6th on 280 and Miles Davison in 7th on 283. Michael Baines is 8th Barry Kirkwood is 9th and Steve Needham in 10th.

In the Womens Secon division Amanda Cox has extended her lead to 4 shots over Sue Green.

Day Two

Good luck happens when preparation meets opportunity.

The word is the course is in great condition and the greens are superb. The proof is that Anthony Ilton- Maher set a new course record of 63, beating the previous record set by Haupai Puha and matched by Daniel Hillier. That is some pretty good names to beat as well as everyone else who has ever played Te Marua.

Anthony 136 now leads Owen Lloyd by by 4 shots heading into moving day. Malcom Gullery moves into third on 144 , 2 shots clear of Aaron Wright and Trey Shedlock on 146. Nick McClure drops to 6th on 148 and Cruise Wawatai moves into 7th on 149. George Wang 151, Joshua Ackerly 152 and Caleb Kahui 154 round out the top 10.

In the Womens top division Erik Cui jumps into the lead with a 2nd round 72 taking her to 147. Mary Speir and Alanah Braybrook hold 2nd on 153 with Phillipa Smith on 4th with 157. Tesia Mania Vaka moves into 5th on 162.

In the Intermediate men Pete Gallen 160 leads by 2 shots from Wayne Turner 162. Kirk Stewart is in 3rd on 164 ahead of Tony Maher on 166. Chris Brooks is 6th on 167 1 shot ahead of Alex Johnson who shot the low round of the day for the Intermediates. Kasey Ward is in 7th on 170 with Vito Sione and Craig Maher on 178. Darcy Kahui and Jason Eade complete the top 10.

In the Men’s Junior division Nigel Messenger on 175 still leads after another good round by 3 shots from Stephen Quinn. Sias Meyer is 3rd on 179. Ray Kahui and Jason Robinson in 4th on 184. Barry Kirkwood is 6th on 187 with Alex Walters and Miles Davison in 7th on 188. Michael Baines is 9th and Steve Needham and Terry Hession in 10th.

In the Womens Secon division Amanda Cox holds a 2 shot lead over Sue Green.

Day One

Form is temporary Class is permanent.

Owen Lloyd leads with Nick McLure (Trentham) both on -3 68. Caleb Kahui (Wainuiomata) a previous champion is 3rd on 72. Mike Ledger and another previous champion Anthony Ilton-Maher are 4th equal with 73. In 6th equal, Malcom Gullery (Boulcott’s Farm) Trey Shedlock (Titahi) and Greg Idour on 74. In 9th Geroge Wang & Aaron Wright (Both Boulcott’s Farm) and Joshua Cumpstone (Judgeford) on 75. A good spread of clubs with three on their home track. The top 20 are all under 80.

In the Intermediate men Wayne Turner and Pete Gallen lead on 81. Craig Maher and Jason Eade (RWGC) on 83 in third. Chris Brooks and Kirk Stewart in 5th on 84. Tony Maher (Aus) on 87 in 6th. Kasey Ward on 88 in eighth. Alex Johnson (Shandon) Vito Sione (Trentham) and Stuart Watt (Mornington) on 90 complete the top ten.

In the Junior men Nigel Messenger 87 leads from Sias Meyer (Manor Park) on 90. Jason Robinson & Micahel Baines in third on 91. Barry Kirkwood (RWGC) in fifth on 92. Then Ray Kahui, Miles Davison & Stephen Quinn on 93 in sixth. Alex Walters in his 45th Masters (yes that is all of them) is ninth on 94 with Meka Boynton rounding out the top ten on 96.

The Womans 1st division is strong this year as well. Alanah Braybrook with 72 leads Erika Cui (RWGC) on 75. Mary Speir (RWGC) with 76 is third ahead of Phillipa Smith (RWGC) on 80. Last years champion Teisa Maika Vaka (Shandon) is fifth with Glenda Swan (RWGC) on 82.

In the Womens 2nd division Amanada Cox (Boulcotts Farm) , last year’s winner is out to an early lead on 90 ahead of Sue Green (Kapiti) on 95.


The 45th Te Marua Masters will be held at Te Marua Golf Club from 27th – 30th December 2023 (4 days)

Start sheets for each of the 4 days will be on the main
NOTICEBOARD next to the Shop entrance

  • Each day, please collect your pre-printed scorecard from
    the Shop
  • DIGITAL SCORECARDS will not be accepted. All players
    must return a “hard-copy” scorecard.
  • The H/C Index and Playing H/C on scorecard are as at
    25/12. If you believe it is wrong, ask for it to be checked
    and if required, get a new scorecard
  • Playing H/C as at Day 1 is frozen for the tournament
  • WGI Order of Merit contenders must abide by WGI
    restrictions on cart use.
  • LOCAL RULES on the scorecard are supplemented by the
    Additional Local Rules posted on the Noticeboard
  • Record your ACTUAL score for each hole
    i.e. no adjusted scores – use X for a pick-up
  • Returning no-score or X for a hole will result in a DQ from
    the Gross & Net Medal comps only.
  • Please complete your scorecard scanning panel
  • All scorecards MUST be signed by player and marker
  • On completion of your round, put your scorecard through
    the scanning kiosk in the Shop and then place it in the
    collection box beside the kiosk
