Morning Members,

Good luck to our Mashie Team playing at Trentham on Saturday 14th August.

Please be aware that effective today, 13/8/2021, the course and in some cases the slope ratings for our courses (different tee sets) have been lowered . These changes have been implemented by NZ Golf following an analysis of scoring data for the last review period. The changes do not affect the stroke ranking of individual holes, nor existing individual H/C index but they DO IMPACT the COURSE PLAYING H/C.

A Blue Tees example:

Index of 9.2 to 10.0 used to give a playing H/C of 10 – effective today, it is 9.5 – 10.4 which results in a playing off a course H/C of 10.

Consequently, index of 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 now gives a Course Handicap (for the Blue Tees) of 9 and at the other end, 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 gives a 10 (previously 11).

Similar changes will be seen in the ratings and course H/C values for all tee sets so be sure to check your playing H/C before heading out on the course .

And when you print your next scorecard, be prepared for a magical improvement in your course playing H/C – and give Thanks to NZ Golf .

The changes have been reviewed & accepted by the Match Committee and updated Playing Handicap tables will be posted.

Thanks to Kevin Keown for his great work he is doing on course to deter rodents – your fortitude is very much appreciated 😊

Winner of the Invicta Trophy was Lloyd Kane convincingly with 79 stablefords, runner-up was Richard Turner on 74, Sam Iraia 73, Kayne Martin 71, Greg Idour 70, Warwick Evans 69, Alex Walters 65, Malcolm Wellington 63, Robert McIntrye 63, Kanon Noble 62, Con Rogers 57, Dean Aleander 56, Mark Harper 54 – congratulations to all participants.

We still have 2 x trailer load of firewood for sale – Gum $180, Pine $150.

Golfer of the year Round 5 was on Sunday I know only a few finished but the three to make it through to the finals are Russell Oliver, Kayne Martin and Chris Hislop.

Have you registered your interest in the possibility of a Division 12 Interclub team?? the list is on the whiteboard and in the Men’s locker room.

Beware of Allan Old on the golf course he can now chalk up three members he has hit with his golf ball, his latest victim Wayne Turner.

We are hoping Denis Kenealy is improving after being hit by a golf ball on Thursday while playing in the MW men competition.

Roaring Forties number was NOT number 1 again (thank goodness) 5 was the lucky number so Bart Curry gets to collect $100 and either side of 5 is Andy Curry and Willie Williams collecting $50.00 each – congratulations – all winnings are in the safe – just ask staff for your money.

What’s on this Week:
