Wait for it!!!! The 2019 Mashies Champions are (trumpets blowing) (feet stamping) TE MARUA !!! Yah Awesome work guys. On Saturday they played at Ohariu Valley, it was a very miserable day, they went toe to toe with Royal Pauatahanui for a 7.5 – 7.5 draw, we know that our team was leading the competition by two points, that left them two points in front and winners of the Mashies, for the 2nd time in 26 years. We are so proud of you, I know I gave you a hard time the beginning of the Competition with your slow start to put points on the board, but I couldn’t be more delighted of the hard work you all put in to be 2019 Mashies Champions.
Enjoy Field Day at Kapiti on the 24th August.
Winners of the Ade Waddell Memorial are Mick Dearmer and Dean Alexander. Dave Workman/Jason Mokalei-Smith sustained pressure from Dean and his big hitting came through in the end , Mick’s composure and Golfing intellect was very valuable, Dave Workman and Jason Mokalei crumbled under the pressure. A bit like the All Black game on Saturday night. -Congratulations guys!!
Roaring Forties started on Saturday night and the winning number was 40 Russell Oliver, 39 Norm Muir and 1 Kim Cottrell. – congratulation to you all!! I wonder who will be the winner this week?
Please don’t forget to register your name for the working bee on the 11th or 12th October to paint the clubrooms – any of your time would be appreciated!
For the competitions that we set up in Dot Golf that play under the “tournament scoring” this option is no longer available in Dot Golf, you are aware that it only takes two exceptional scores in tournaments can reduce a handicap index. The change is due to the introduction of the new world handicap system (WHS) and the transition from current handicaps to the new WHS handicap. There will still be R handicaps, but should fully be phased out by the introduction date. If you are wanting any further information regarding the new WHS, it will start appearing on http://www.golf.co.nz/About/Handicapping.aspx website shortly. You can check out the Golf Operation Guide which will be added to the website in the next week or two. It will have it own heading at http://www.golf.co.nz/About/Default.aspx.
