The Quarter Final Matchplay results for the women are Chrissy Doughty v Kim Abrahams – very close where Chrissy pipped Kim on the 19th. Kerry Baines played Ange Walsh where Kerry took the win 5/4. – Congratulations to you all
Congratulations and thanks to Peter Gallen and Alex Ross for attending and passing NZ Golf Level 1 Rules Course.
Division 9 lost 10-5 away at Miramar with Wayne Bach winning his singles match. Mark Holley, Mel Phillips, Charlie Priestly and Brett Keno halved their singles matches. Brent Leader and Jayden Wellington won their 4-ball match, as did Andrew Black and Mike Smith. With only 1 game remaining, the team are only 0.5 behind leaders Boulcott, who they play at Boulcott in the final round on May 11th. So close but exciting – YOU CAN DO THIS GUYS!!!!
Sadly our Mashie Team were beaten 6.5-8.5 in murky conditions, by Kapiti, at a very windy Ohariu Valley on Saturday. The good news is that they are still 4th on the table!!! – Onwards and upwards!! Their next game is at Te Marua on the 18th May and their last game is at Pauatahanui on the 25th May. All members have been notified of the dates for the last two games so please let your Captain know if you are available now so we are not looking for players in the last few days to complete the team.
Mid-Week Penrose Pennants teams played at Royal Wellington on Monday and had a 5/4 win over Karori. Congratulations to Susan and Faye who both had a win and also won their 4-Ball, also to Pat who won her singles, plus her and Gill winning their 4-ball. Well played to all the team in difficult conditions. That was the last game for the year apart from field day, Jo would like to thank all Ladies that played this year. Awesome Ladies!!!!
Congratulations to Club Member Dominic Hazeldine who has made the Development 2 team for Wellington Golf.
Good luck to our Women’s Interclub Team playing Saturday and Monday.
Member’s that play in Recurring Bookings on Sunday would have already received an automated message to say recurring bookings have been altered on the start sheet due to Club Championship being played this Sunday, I apologise if this has upset any members playing in their allocated time slot, but in the same breathe I say TOUGH, it has been well advertised around the clubhouse and notice boards plus in the blob a couple of months ago the dates of qualifying plus the dates of the Championship rounds for the men. (plus I’m sure members got an e-mail from Match Committee about the dates to make sure they were available for all games if qualified). I’m sure you all know by now that Match Committee have had the qualifiers playing in a group for several years, rightly so!!! this is meant to be an exciting time for club members and sufficient to our club. To all qualifiers congratulations,. To all Members championship round 2 is on SUNDAY 19TH MAY, recurring booking tee times may be effected, we will try our best to minimized the distribution to your tee times. Please take note again the Matchplay Semi Finals is on the SUNDAY 26TH MAY with the final being played on SUNDAY 9th JUNE, which will be 36 holes, all this information is in your programme book, recurring bookings are a privilege not a given, club events will always have first option over recurring booking. Thank you to the members that have e-mailed us and rebooked their times.
