BLOB

Morning everyone,

Awesome to hear local golfer Daniel Hillier was in the New Zealand Open ending the tournament being the lead amateur with Nick Voke as lead kiwi at Millbrook, next year the New Zealand Open would have been going for 100 years.

Last weekend our Interclub teams had a mixed bag of results with the win or lost down to a point. Division 7 Lost to Otaki 7 -8, a loss but good points earned away from home – very close game guys!!
Division 9 haven’t hit their straps yet. They have had two reasonable performances away, including a 6.5-8.6 result at Kapiti. The best preforming players have been Brett Keno 4 out of 4 single wins, Brian Cockburn 3 out of 4 single wins, Roger Thompson 2.5 of 3 single wins, Chris Hislop 2 out of 2 single wins. The muppet award goes to Captain Andrew Black who lost after being 4 up with 6 to play at Ohariu last Saturday.
Division 4 got their 3rd draw of the season getting 7.5 points away. Still remain unbeaten for the season – Awesome guys!!! Steve Heller finally got his blue friend off his back and that was claimed by Jason MacKenzie. Player of day for the 2nd week in a row went to Luke Holford with a 6 & 5 win. Awesome work team!!!!
Division 1 played at Waikanae with the final score 8-7 to Waikanae – so close guys!!! – Another excellent result playing away from home. Good win by Leigeon Tumataroa in his singles march 7/6 and a 4/4 win in the 4 ball with Jamie Ryland – dynamic duo!! A few losses on our side but all players did their part at different times in the round, which can be seen from the excellent away result for this team. – Great effort guys!!!
The Women’s Interclub MAT Team had a good result away from home 7.5-4.5, although it was their first loss of the season it was always going to be one of the more difficult away matches, it was a big improvement on last year where they only picked up two points at Kapiti. Congratulations to Kim and Dale, both winning their single and 4 ball matches respectively – The women have a bye in Round 5, their next match will be on the 24th March Round 6.

Congratulations to all team captain’s for getting your results in – Good Luck to all our interclub teams playing tomorrow. – Keep up the good work!!!

We hosted the Diplomats friendly golf day with Te Marua on Friday, sadly we only had 7 Te Marua members that registered, I am not going to say anything else – just what a disappointing response from OUR CLUB participation, thank you to the 7 members that played in the tournament.

I have 20 members registered in the St Pat’s day tournament next Saturday, if you have not registered after this weekend you will miss out!!!
