BLOB

Afternoon everyone,

I am really sorry to inform you all that club member Barry Griffin passed away yesterday while on holiday in Australia. He was at the time in hospital after being unwell and was doing a crossword with his wife where he had an aneurysm and quickly passed away. Barry would always be involved in any fundraising ventures we were doing weather it be raffle tickets or roaring forties, I will miss his support, plus dry wit and sometimes grumpy face. The club’s condolences go out to his wife and family at this very sad and unexpected time.

Winner of the $50.00 raffle was Ross Braybrook.

Winners of the last Roaring Forties draw was Kim Cottrell 30 – $100, plus Me (again) and Murray Quinn $50.00 each. Thanks again for your support for our Heat Pump in the office, I look forward to getting all owed money from members that didn’t win (sorry) over the next couple of weeks. Going by my records apart from two members everyone has been paid out their winnings a total of $2000.00.

Course is at the moment open for the full 18 holes, CARTS are allowed top and bottom, same consideration applies as previously mentioned in the Blob, and the status of the course and carts is reviewed daily due to the unpredictable weather.

I would like to welcome new members Jonathan Barnett, Hayden Stuthridge, Graeme McGall, Duncan Jones, Braam Ellis, James Shepard, Dave Render and Rick Stevens to our club. I’m sure our current members will make you more than welcome, plus do not hesitate to contact staff at the office/shop for any queries.

Paul MacDonald has his blue cart in the shed for sale, all batteries are new, it is in great condition, if anyone is interested the asking price is $3500 please contact me.

Invicta Trophy round 2 will be played this Saturday.

Winner of the Hastwell Cup was new member Jason Mokalei-Smith with 39 Stablefords, Runner-Up was Dave Anderson, congratulations to Jason, I was only speaking to his partner yesterday and she keeps wondering what he does at golf but did know his handicap was 25, now Jason you can tell her you have won a Club Trophy.

Winner of the Pope Cup was Clinton Codyre with 39 Stablefords, Runner-Up was Robert McIntyre, congratulations to you all.

Special thanks to Ian and Gary Sherwin for organizing and helping with cart trail on #8, you guys are awesome and the club appreciates your contribution very much.
