1st DAY OF SPRING.
Cloudy and fine up here today, no breeze.
What a wonderful weekend – full with tremendous rugby, the best part of the All Blacks game was the win plus watching Michael Cheika reaction in the coaching box, he is such a CLOWN!!! I have watched all the games of the Black Ferns and was thrilled they bet England in the final, hopefully they will get the recognition they deserve for not only being the dominant team in women’s rugby worldwide but now having 5 world cup titles, plus the best winning percentage in international rugby with winning close to 90 percent of their tests. I sometimes feel dejected they don’t really get near enough the same coverage (or money )our All Blacks do.
I have also enjoyed every minute of watching the Canoe Sprint World Championships – Lisa Carrington has certainly maintained her remarkable dominance in K1200, bringing home 2 gold, silver and a bronze, she would certainly be ranked as New Zealand greatest sporting achievement and would be a “once in a life time athlete”.
Loved also watching the Women’s golf in the Weekend at Ottawa Golf & Hunt Club in Canada, my favourite golfer would have to be In Gee Chun she just smiled the whole tournament, and played some great shots.
So proud of our Sportswomen!!!!
Winner of the $50.00 was Andrew Curry.
