Morning everyone, nice day for a round, come up and make the most of it.

We still require a person to coordinate this year’s Interclub teams. Job Description would be:

Organise interclub trial game.

Work with team captains to make up teams.

Attend Wellington Golf meetings on behalf of TMGC interclub.

Arrange end of year Interclub Trip and get together.

Come on guys. I am sure there is someone who is quiet capable in our club to fill the above roll.

You can all imagine with the heavy rain over the past week, we now have heavy ground conditions and the surge in grass growth, the Green-keepers have had difficulty trying to mow fairways and rough which is understandable. Players might need to use an extra club or two from various parts of the course, because there will be little to no run out there for a few more days. – Congratulations to the Green-keepers for doing a wonderful job and working hard to get our course in tip top conditions – you are AWESOME!!.

Please take note we have coring booked in for Monday 3rd October.

Clubrooms will be closed from the Monday 3rd October to Monday 10th October.

The Shop /Office will be closed from Thursday 6th October afternoon only, plus Friday all day, reopens on the Saturday 8th October. During this time you are more than welcome to come up for a game, there will be plenty of cards out the front for you to use.

Roaring Forties 1st draw will start next Saturday 1st October, $200.00 for winning bonus number, then $100 each side of winning bonus number, everyone pays $20.00 a month for their number – up to and including February. The draw will be the first SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH. $20.00 for the Saturday draw will have to be paid before the draw, if dropping money off when I am not here, money is to put inside an envelope with your name on it, and given to staff to pass on to me, where I have a spreadsheet with all names and payment.

I will be here this weekend to take payment, please bring the cash as I will not have enough in the till.

Has anyone noticed the security flood lights in the carpark – they are pretty AWESOME and bright – A big thank you to Allan Fayen who did the job for us at Roaring Forties Rates – you are AWESOME!!

So far Roaring Forties has raised funds for the benches down by the cart shed, BBQ Tables that have arrived, when Dave Sully has some spare time he is going to put them out and secure them so they don’t get pinched , or thrown in the river like the last table did, otherwise they are in the tournament room if any anyone wants to check them out, the Flood Lightening in the carpark, plus just waiting for a club member to give me a LABOUR FREE quote on the concrete to be done outside the shop. Our quotes so far on this job are too unaffordable. Excellent contribution from all participants in the Roaring Forties – thank you to everyone – You are all AWESOME!!!

I still have to get money owed from the Roaring Forties, you know who you are so I will touch base with you all this week so I can have it signed as completed Income.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS this Saturday, so don’t forget to put your clocks forward.

Tomorrow we are hosting the Wellington Left Handers Tournament, the draw for this is on Te Marua Website, it will be a 2 tee start all day, club members are more than welcome to come up after the Left-Handers have teed off #1 and #10 after 12.30 for a round.

Club Day Sunday 25th September the Men have Golfer of the Year Round 8, and the Women have Tommy Stroud Weekend V Midweek (4 players).

Short Course Club Day that was going to held on the 1st October has now been cancelled to a later date.

OK now for a bit of humour:

The person who gets all correct will get a surprise voucher.

Are you losing it??? Take this quiz to see if you still have what it takes.

It may be a “little” difficult for all who are over 60. Those younger than 60 will have no hope at all – PROVE ME WRONG

Let’s see how bright you all are:-

(1) You are a participant in a race. You overtake the second person, What position are you in?

(2) If you overtake the last person, then you are??

(3) Do this in your head only – Take 1000 and add 40 to it, now add another 1000, now add 30, add another 1000m now add 20, now add another 1000, now add 10 – what is the total?

(4) Mary’s father has 5 daughters – Nana, Nene, Nini, Nono and ??? What is the name of the 5th daughter?

(5) A mute person goes into a shop and wants to buy a toothbrush, by imitating the action of brushing his teeth, he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done. Next a blind man comes into the shop and wants to buy a pair of sunglasses. How does he indicate what he wants?

Answers in next week’s blob, first person to send all correct answers gets the voucher.

What’s on this week:

Saturday Wellington Left-Hander Tournament – limited tee times.

Sunday – Club Day

Monday Shop/Office open and course.

Tuesday MW Men, 9 hole gross R11
