The BLOB – 29th July 2016

Morning everyone,

Lovely day up here today.

Winner of the $50.00 was Andrew Curry.

Winners of the Roaring Forties on Saturday was Paul MacDonald: “24” $100, Ross Braybrook “23” $50.00, John Kane “25” $50.00. – congratulations – Good Luck everyone for Saturday.

Good news!!! with the help of new member Luke Kirkwood and the Manager from Bunnings Warehouse we managed to get a good price on two barbeque tables, plus free delivery, these will be made up with extra treated sturdy timber in August and delivered.

A Big THANK YOU to our B1 Interclub Team who donated $400.50 from team funds to the Roaring Forties Club towards the purchase of the barbeque tables – you are AWESOME.

The next job on the Roaring Forties list will be to have the uneven concrete in the car park, outside the shop fixed.  If anyone has any ideas or can help please let me know.

Our thoughts go out to Roger Hough who had an unfortunate accident at work, he has been released from hospital and at home recovering.  We hope to see him playing golf again soon.

A Big Welcome to new members Brian Childs, John and Jan Tomlinson, Zardyn Knapp, Massey Raemaki, Paul Kibblewhite, Darren Johnston, Luke Kirkland, and Codi Ashton.  Plus junior members Tommy Eggleton, Daniel Hailwood, Jamie Gray and Ethan Morris.  I’m positive our members will make you all feel very welcome to our wonderful club, and please do not hesitate to contact staff in the shop/office for any queries.

The Decision has been made by the committee that anyone that has a recurring booking who does not remove their name from the start sheet for Club Day when unable to play, they will only be allowed two misses before their name will be deleted from recurring bookings.  Start Sheets have been observed over the past two months, and it has been noted that a few members are taking advantage of being on the start sheets regularly and not turning up.  I find it embarrassing when a new member joins a group of three, then the three don’t turn up.  I would like to thank all members that do ring to advise staff they will not be playing, plus members that remove themselves off the start sheet.   We have a lot of members that would like to play the early time slots – so please keep this in mind when you are fully aware that you will not be playing on a Sunday in your booked time slot.  Please don’t use the excuse that it is raining – so it doesn’t matter!!!!

Dave Sully was on the Radio on Friday and Saturday morning talking about his job and our beautiful course, you can catch the pod-cast and some stunning photos of our course on the R N Z Website.

The Shop/Office will be closed on Monday the 1st August.

Kim Abrahams is the Bronze Championship Winner – congratulations –   Runner-up is Mary Penrose – congratulations  You both are AWESOME!!!!

Dave Sully would like a Volunteer to make up some wooden signs for “NO CARTS” – please contact him if interested.
