The BLOB – 24th June 2016

Morning everyone, what a beautiful day up here, just stunning.

Winner of the Weekend  Women’s 2016 Club Champion Silver Division was Amie Clisby, Runner-up Connie Broker –congratulations to you both.

I sent an e-mail out to you all this morning from the Executive Committee, I hope you all have had time to read it, and will consider the options available to you to help relieve the cash flow problem the club is facing.

Thanks to you all for supporting the shops sales, I would really love to get the stock down by 30% over the next few weeks, so come in and have a look around for a bargain.

Again we have had awesome comments about our beautiful greens the past week –  AWESOME work Greenkeepers!!!

Roaring Forties starts on Saturday 2nd July, I have four numbers to sell , they are 1, 5, 16 and 34, if anyone is interested let me know .  $10.00 a week for 10 weeks, if your number is the bonus number you get $100.00, plus if your number is either side of bonus number you get $50.00.

If you have registered for the Wainuiomata  Mid- Winter Classic  on this Sunday 26th June it has now been postponed until Sunday 10th July due to the fact the weather is not looking too flash for the weekend.

Please contact the office or Gina if wanting any Firewood $80.00 a trailer load, this would  be suitable for next season.

Hope you all enjoyed watching the US Open, it was great to see our own Tim Wilkinson make his debut where he played all four rounds which would have been the initial goal.  To achieve finishing tied 64th would hopefully build his confidence when he returns to the PGA Tour. Danny Lee will not be playing this weekend, so all eyes will be on Wilkinson.

Lydia Ko finished up tied fourth at last week’s Meiher LPGA Classic, this weekend she is entered into the Walmart NZ Arkansas Championship, I feel it’s only a matter of time before she gets in the winner’s circle again.  Teeing off tonight she is, as always, hot favourite to take home the title.

Looks like there is going  to be a race for the final Olympic spot between Hendry and Fox.  Ryan Fox is well placed tied for second in his latest European Challenge Tour, he had a six under round of 65. Michael Hendry has had a good start in the ISPS Handa Global Cup, lying tied 22nd after a three under first round of 68, David Small is only two shots behind at -1, but right on the cut line at tied 56, Luke Toomey is placed well back after a four opening round.  Grant Waite is playing in the American Family Insurance Championship in Madison Wisconsin.

Loved watching the All Blacks, Warriors, and World Dart Champs, can’t believe that I actually won some money when I picked Anderson the Flying Scotsman to win!!!!!
