The BLOB – 3rd June 2016

Morning everyone, beautiful up here today, just stunning, come up for a round, make the most of the great weather this weekend.

Matchplay Finals was not played on Sunday 29th May, it will now be played on Sunday 12th June.

Bonus Cards are now available for Full Playing members to pick up, the 2016 cards can no longer be used at  Judgeford or Shandon.

On Saturday 11th June we are hosting the final of the 36 hole WGI Interclub game, plus our own Interclub team is playing here.   The reserve day for this will be Saturday 18th June, so the start sheet will not be available for club members to book a tee time until after the game is played on the 11th June. – sorry for any inconvenience

When members and visitors hire carts you will have to sign for the cart, plus sign a Terms and Conditions Agreement form,  last month we had a cart damaged which cost over $1200 to get fixed, and on various times we have had to pay for other damages for our leased carts, the club will no longer be accepting responsibility occurred due to negligence by visitors/members for the period of hireage.   Please don’t take this personally I believe our members have always taken excellent care when hiring.  BUT can everyone hiring carts please remove all drink bottles and rubbish from them before returning the cart.  Thank-you

If you are wanting to watch some golf on television this weekend, we have Ryan Fox who gets another European Tour start in the Nordic Masters in Stockholm, Michael Hendry has another opportunity to advance on his world ranking in one of the richest tournaments on the Japan Tour, the $NZ2.0 million JCT Championship at Shishido Hill starting today.  Danny Lee is playing in the Jack Nicklaus’s Tournament at Ohio USA, sadly Tim Wilkinson missed out on a start in one of the strongest fields of the year.  Last but not least we have Lydia Ko in the Shoprite LPGA Classic in New Jersey this weekend.

Te Marua Golf Club has created a Givealittle page, sometimes you just have to try every avenue to fundraise money, we have to save the 200 year old Totara trees by protecting erosion of the Hutt River banks on the Te Marua Golf Course,  we all know that the Regional Council look after the river to Birchville only, we have finally gained consent to build rock groynes along the banks but we need help to fund this work before more damage is done, this is a very expensive job, so the Givealittle Page hopefully will spark some interest in the Community/Region and maybe further afield so we can endeavour to find the money we need to protect our course.

Tuesday and Thursday MW men are playing, 9 hole Stableford R7 on Tuesday for the Ladies, MW Ladies play on the Wednesday.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend, if travelling be safe.

Regards Sonia
