The BLOB – 2nd April 2016

Morning everyone, hope you all enjoyed your long weekend.

Today we have light showers between some long fine spells.

Sad about the cricket, but as least Australia is not in the final for the men, I think England and Australia (women) will both beat the West Indies.  Warriors finally had a win!!!!

Hurricanes have the bye this weekend, so looking forward to the game next week against the Jaguares at Westpac which we should win.

Winner of the $50,00 Raffle was Bruce Hay – congratulations

Winner of the Roaring Forties this week was John West number 39 $100, Andrew Curry 38 $50.00 and Russell Oliver 40 $50.00.  Good luck to you all this week.

On Sunday 3rd April we have Meet the Members Day, I have managed to put new members in the early time slots without altering the start sheet, so new members that were wanting to play with current members please check your starting time on Sunday, also current members please make the effort on introducing them after your game in the clubrooms to other members.

Sunday 3rd April we have the Ambassadors Cup for the Men this is set up as a Par Competition, Automatic Entry, and LGU,Putts, HP Stableford, Home Links for the Ladies.

On Monday 4th April the course is closed until late afternoon, we are hosting the Senior Men.

On Friday 15th April the course is closed until late afternoon we are hosting the Ladies Vets.

I  heard on the grape vine that Claire Puntenney is going to become a New Zealand Citizen on Tuesday 5th April.  – Congratulations

Division B3 Men’s Interclub team played on the 19th March at Te Marua against Manor Park losing 5 ½  – 9 ½,  Manor Park certainly gave them a lesson on how to play our course. Congratulations to Te Marua Players Zane Wilkins, Jeff Rigby, Dave Anderson and Russell Oliver who won, Russell and Andrew Curry had a 4 Ball win and Jeff and Mick Dearmer had a  ½  Thanks to Jeff Rigby for filling in, not only is he not in the team but he hit the best score of the day with a 77, followed closely behind him was Zane Wilkins on a 78 – Awesome guys!!!!

This was not the result Dave Anderson’s team was looking for, but the best they could do on the day.

On Saturday I had a problem with the card printing machine, everyone that played on Saturday was manually entered in to the system and the competitions, I couldn’t print the results for Saturday after I entered your cards, I should of bulk printed the cards that I entered and transfer the numbers to your cards, so yesterday I deleted all members scores that played on Saturday from your scoring history, then re-entered under the card numbers so I could get a correct record of results, I could of done this manually, but you can’t do the shootout manually, there was some good Stableford’s on Saturday so it was best to do it this way so the members that were entered into the Shootout their Stableford’s were recorded in the system for the end of year results.

What’s on this week:

Monday – We are hosting the Seniors course closed till the afternoon.

Tuesday – MW Men are hosting Carterton, 9 hole Gross RD4 for the Ladies.

Wednesday – LGU, Putts, HP Stableford, Home links Events for the Ladies.

On Sunday the 10th April the Men have Strokeplay Championships Round 3,( Mayer & Kean Cup, Don Hazlett Trophy). Bolt Cup Round 1 and Matchplay qual.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Regards Sonia
