The BLOB – 18th March 2016

Afternoon everyone, nice, no breeze, and sunny up here today.

Good Luck to all our Interclub Teams on Saturday.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: If you are a Te Marua Member it is your responsibility to make sure your visitor has PAID, you can-not invite someone to our club when the office is open or closed for a free round of golf.  Please Remember TRENTHAM getting to play at our course for free finished in December 2015.  Don’t be surprised if I ask YOU for your visitors Green Fees!!  We have a honesty box by the front office/shop door for visitors and social members green fees that are playing after hours,  please use the envelope for payment, write you name in the book, and take a yellow tag to put on your bag.

Please everyone be aware that there will be logging trucks in the area working on Twin Lake Road, so when turning out of the carpark take special care to LOOK if anything is coming the other way.

Te Marua Ladies played in the Mary Alward on Saturday against Paraparaumu and won 8-4 – congratulations

The St Pat’s Day tournament was enjoyed by all that participated, there would be a few with sore heads today, thank you to Bernie Breslin and his team of helpers for another well run tournament – we always enjoy having you at our course.

Winners of the Roaring Forties this week were Debbie and Tom Hunter with number 8, $100 coming their way, either side of 8 was Dave Anderson and Mike Ansell who receive $50.00 each – congratulations to you all – Good Luck to everyone this week!!

Murray Halberg Day is on Sunday, the cost of this is $10.00, included in the cost is a raffle ticket, 1st prize is a full set of AeroBurner Golf Clubs valued at $2,669.00, there is also another 39 prizes with a total value of $11,499.00, this competition is run by the Eagles Golfing Society of New Zealand in association with TaylorMade and Adidas.  I only have 60 tickets once they are gone that’s it.

We have a Murray Halberg Trust raffle for $5.00, first prize being a Golf Bag, second prize a Logo Club Shirt of your choice.

On Sunday the 3rd of April I am looking at having a MEET THE NEW MEMBERS DAY, before I go ahead with this I would like new members to register their interest, the idea would be to have two new members playing in a four with our club members giving them an opportunity to meet other members.  I realise that there are a couple of groups that play on Sunday in their own competition I will take every effort to accommodate you if I am required to do a new start sheet for our Club Day, but I must insist that this idea is not to upset anyone, but to make our new members feel a belonging to their new club.

All New Members please contact me so I can register your interest with your preferred tee time to play on Sunday 3rd April.

I have decided that due to a lack of interest we are not going ahead with the fundraiser of the Entertainment books, thanks to the five members that put your name on the list  I’m sure you will be able to get these through another fundraising outlet in the Hutt Valley.

Daylight Savings finishes on Saturday 2nd April.
