Message from Di – A big thank you to Sonia for covering all my days and keeping me up to date with all the gossip of the golf club, and not to mention visiting every Monday with a box load of work!!! and putting up with my numerous emails every five seconds. Also a big thanks to Katy and Gail working on the weekends to cover Sonia’s shifts. Thank you to all our members and our new members, who I am looking forward to meeting, for your patience when your query’s and membership options were not answered promptly. It was not the best of times for me to break a leg with the Masters’ looming, changing of committee members and subscription fee structure. – Thanks
I am still looking for players for the Mashie team, as you are aware the team is really short and in need of more players, more so with two players out for a while with injuries, I have managed to get a few to be reserves but need more, we have a game on Saturday February 27th and need a player for that day, there are 11 games during the year, one Saturday a month is all I’m asking for, COME ON members I’m sure that some have the time to play once a month. Generally the tee offs are between 8.30am – 9.00am, multiple tees, format is 4BBB, Single Match Play and Stableford all in the one round, $15.00 a player which includes a meal, prizes after each game, if you have a handicap over 14.9
Please contact me.
We are hosting the Evergreens on Thursday 25th February, course will be unavailable till late afternoon.
A Start Sheet has not been opened up for Saturday the 5th March at the moment, we are hosting 10 Interclub teams so course will be unavailable for the day.
2016 Men’s Strokeplay Championships starts early this year, Round 1 is on Sunday 28th February, we still have the four rounds but not consecutive weeks Round 1 – 28th February, Round 2 – 6th March, THEN A BREAK – Round 3 – 10th April, Round 4 – 17th April, the reason for the change is to work around the weather – reduce having to play in the rain (hopefully), also work around Interclub and Easter. Round 2 and 4 of the Strokeplay Champs are still the Qualifying rounds for the Matchplay Championships, Round 1 of which is 1st May.
Handicap Divisions this year Are:-
Senior 0.0.- 9.7
Junior 15.3 and above.
Good Luck to all our Interclub Teams tomorrow, please remember to give me your results, and maybe a sentence on how your teams did, or a comment on any outstanding play of the day. We are interested in how you did!!!!!!
We have the NZ Regional Army here on the 28th February to the 4th March. The course is still open during the week for you to play, the Army are more than happy for Te Marua Members to play around their tournament, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday they will be teeing off #1 and #10 starting at 8.00am playing 36 holes, Thursday they will teeing off #1 and #10 at 11.00am playing 18 holes, and Friday teeing off #1 and #10 at 9.30am playing 18 holes, there is about 40 players in this NZ Regional Team. So I suggest you ring first so we can let you know what a good time would be to tee off so you don’t get into the middle of the Army Tournament.
